About Us

Traditions Mountain Lodge opened its doors in July 2008, a dream come true for owners Don and Marge who made a conscious decision to leave the corporate world and city life behind in favor of surrounding themselves with the beauty of the great Colorado Rocky Mountains and a more casual lifestyle. An equally important part of their goal was the desire to be surrounded by the laughter, joy, sharing and caring that comes from welcoming families and friends with common interests, and those who seek a comfortable place in which to share time together.

Marge, passionate about scrapbooking, has always had a strong interest in genealogy and family histories, believing that everybody has a story to tell, and every story holds important meaning for future generations as well as those past and present. Scrapbooking allows us to tell our stories in fun, creative ways, creating an important legacy every family should be blessed with. Because history includes meaningful traditions that bind generations together, traditions really are the beautiful threads that form the tapestries of our lives and our families. A love of traditions, as well as the people who create and honor them through the years, led to the naming of Traditions Mountain Lodge.

Don, always the fisherman, found a new outlet for his favorite past time after he and Marge moved to Colorado in 1994. Fly fishing the many incredibly beautiful streams and mountain lakes is not only challenging, but include breathtaking hikes through canyons, valleys, and alpine terrain. An information technology professional, by trade, Don is also our resident “computer support team” ensuring our wireless network is available for guests and assisting with technical support as may be needed.

Eddie, our lovable terrier mix, joined the family in 2007. Being cat owners previously, Eddie was, and continues to be, a new adventure! She loves people, loves chasing her toys, is crazy about deer in the yard, and is gradually outgrowing the need to chew every shoe she finds. Although she has the run of most of the house, she is restricted from the craft and guest sleeping areas to ensure guests are able to return home with all their possessions in the same non-chewed condition they arrived in.

Come visit; we’d love to meet you!
